Every companion in Starfield is a little different, both when it comes to their personalities and the skills that they bring to the table. There are 26 of them in total, though players can also recruit a bunch of generic unnamed NPCs to man their ships and outposts by visiting clubs and bars throughout the settled systems. Some companions will need to be paid to join the player's crew, while others will tag along willingly.
