There are plenty of great skills in Starfield, but Persuasion is definitely one of the most useful. It makes it much easier for players to talk themselves out of trouble, avoiding conflict with a peaceful exchange of words rather than starting it with a hail of bullets. Those who choose one of the Diplomat, Industrialist, Sculptor, or Space Scoundrel Backgrounds will start with the skill by default. Everybody else can unlock it from the Social skill tree for a single skill point.
Starfield: Should You Kill Brogan or Try to Persuade Him?
Players will be given a chance to negotiate with Brogan during Starfield's tutorial, but may find it easier to just shoot him dead instead of talking.
